Adding Custom Fields in DocMan 3.1.2

Hi there,

We've previously followed this tutorial (https://www.joomlatools.com/developer/extensions/docman/templates/custom-fields/#back-end) to add backend custom fields in DocMan 2.5. It worked fine. Now as we've upgraded to DocMan 3.1.2, it broke. Seems like DocMan using bootstrap and there are other helper changes too. So is there any updated tutorial to add custom fields (multiple select boxes) for the DocMan version 3.1.2.

If not, do you have any plan to update the above mentioned tutorial/blog soon for the DocMan version 3.1?

Thanks!

Hello Philip,

The tutorial is still applicable to DOCman 3.1.2.

However, the old template override did not work because it is not compatible with 3.1.2. You will need to update your template override by reapplying your custom fields using the new version of
/administrator/components/com_docman/views/document/tmpl/default.html.php.

Cheers!
Ra'el
