Ordering By Number

I have a number of documents, that are numbered.

It lists them wrong when ordering by alphabetical, as it puts a 0 before a '.'

For example, the list looks something like this;

1.0,10.1,10.2,11.1,11.2,2.1,2.2,3.1,3.3,4.1

Notice after 1.0 it goes straight to 10 right upto number 17, then it picks up 2.xx right upto 9.

I know i could manually set all these by putting the order to most recent, then manually changing the date on each one so they fall in order. However this is not a brilliant way of doing it, especially if at some point i add a document with 3.3 then i have to mess around with lots of dates.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Ritchie, this behavior is correct and how alphabetical ordering works. What you can do is set the order of the documents manually and then order the documents by ordering, this is now supported in DOCman 3.

Does that help you?
