"Please login first" form even for public articles

I'm using DocMan 1.6.7 on Joomla! 2.5.8.

When I create a link to a document within an article or module, then try to access the link, I get the following message:

"Please login first"

I can only download the document by logging in.

  • The global DocMan permissions are set to "Browse, Download and View" for "Guests".
  • Under Document Permissions View = Everybody
  • The documents in question have "Viewers" set to Everybody, and are published and approved.

I can access documents through the front end if I publish Docman as a menu item.

Hi Laure, good to hear you solved your problem. For more info about this issue please also see : 72-doclink-url-asks-to-login

If you need your document links to be publicly accessible you need to make sure you have a menu item linked to DOCman that is also publically accessible. Otherwise DOCman's security will kick in and dissallow access.
